A Rushing Mighty Wind

This is a remarkable TRUE story – watch the video and read the story.  Oh that this would happen the world over!

A Rushing Mighty WindA Rushing Mighty Wind by Angus Buchan

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

“When well-known author and evangelist angus Buchan was invited to speak at the Feat of Tabernacles, a yearly celebration held in Israel’s Ein-Gedi Desert, nothing could have prepared him for the miraculous events that were about to take place.”

In A Rushing Mighty Wind the Author, Angus Buchan, brings us the story of the events that surrounded the Feast of Tabernacles Celebration that was held at Ein-Gedi Desert in Israel on September 30, 2012. But it’s not just a story, it a re-telling of actual events and the manifestation of the Holy Spirit at that event and ushering in the tangible presence of God during that time. This presence of God helps to remind all of us that God is not just an historical figure that we read about… no, He is more than that. He is real, and alive and at work in each of our lives day in and day out and He is with each of us always. Continue reading

The Making of an Ordinary Saint

This is another of the books that is on my 2015 list of books to read again… digging deeper and going deeper – exploring each of these disciplines…   (that list will show up on this blog at the beginning of December. I hope that you will join me in reading through the list)

The Making of an Ordinary Saint: My Journey from Frustration to Joy with the Spiritual DisciplinesThe Making of an Ordinary Saint: My Journey from Frustration to Joy with the Spiritual Disciplines by Nathan Foster

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“Nathan Foster was just a child when his father’s classic Celebration of Discipline brought the spiritual disciplines into the popular evangelical consciousness. More than thirty years later, Nathan made his own journey into the spiritual disciplines. As he sought day by day to develop habits that would enable him to live more like Jesus, he encountered problems both universal and unique. In this engaging narrative, he draws insights from saints of old to uncover fresh ways of living for the contemporary, postmodern Christian.”

Understanding the End Times

The Holy Land Key: Unlocking End-Times Prophecy Through the Lives of God's People in IsraelThe Holy Land Key: Unlocking End-Times Prophecy Through the Lives of God’s People in Israel by Ray Bentley

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

“Don’t Just Read Prophecy. Step into Its Fulfillment. The study of prophecy inspires elaborate timelines and speculation about which world leader might rise to power in the last days. But meanwhile, it’s far too easy to miss the significant prophetic signs contained in stories of biblical characters, in God’s creation, and in the lives and actions of today’s Israelis and Palestinians.”

The Holy Land Key: Unlocking End-Times Prophecy Through the Lives of God’s People in Israel by Ray Bentley is quite an interesting book. Right from the beginning it is filled with intriguing personal stories about key players in present-day Israel. With all that is going in Israel daily, it is through these personal accounts, we get a glimpse of Israel – then and now. Continue reading

Living a Life Where Anything is Possible

Over the last year or so, I have had the privilege of reading some amazing books.  There are some that are “ok” and then there are those that show up in God’s timing and are deposited into your life at that moment when He knows you are ready, and need to, hear the message.   This is one of those books.

It took over 150 pages before the words spoken in prophecy over me were revealed to me in the same words that were spoken.  I have been truly blessed by this book.

This is one of the books that is on my 2015 list of books to read again… digging deeper and going deeper (that list will show up on this blog at the beginning of December.  I hope that you will join me in reading through the list)

And now for the review…

Breakthrough Faith: Entering Into a Life of Victory, Power, and MiraclesBreakthrough Faith: Entering Into a Life of Victory, Power, and Miracles by Larry Sparks

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“We all experience the impossibilities of life, just like the four men in the Bible who sought Jesus’ healing touch for their paralyzed friend. The question is—how will you respond?

You have two options. You can accept your circumstances as God’s will and simply give up… or, you can break through and receive everything God has waiting for you.”

Hearing His Voice

The One Year Hearing His Voice Devotional: 365 Days of Intimate Communication with GodThe One Year Hearing His Voice Devotional: 365 Days of Intimate Communication with God by Chris Tiegreen

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

“This year, learn to listen for the voice of the One who loves you most. We know for sure that God speaks to His people. Throughout the pages of Scripture, time after time, He guides, instructs, corrects, inspires, encourages, and reveals. Inspired writers even call Him “the Word.” He has always been vocal, and He always will be.

But what does He say to you? How does He say it? How can you know when you’ve heard Him?”

The One Year – Hearing His Voice Devotional by Chris Tiegreen is a great daily devotional to add to your daily quiet time to aid you in learning to hearing God’s voice. And while this isn’t always something we can readily discern, Mr. Tiegreen, helps us to learn to discover patterns and to adopt practices that will enable us to more readily hear His voice. Bethlehem Road: A Guide to RuthBethlehem Road: A Guide to Ruth by Michael Whitworth

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

“Out of the immense moral darkness of the Judges period comes a story of romance, redemption, and hope. The tale of Ruth has inspired countless generations. But Ruth isn’t the star in this romantic drama; center stage belongs to God and his providence. Naomi and Ruth traveled the Bethlehem Road—one of famine, abandonment, grief, and loss—unaware that the Lord had gone before them to redeem their heartache.”

Life On The Family Farm

Life on the Family Farm: Under an Open HeavenLife on the Family Farm: Under an Open Heaven by Tom Heck

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“You are the most God-gifted writer I’ve ever had,” Tom’s college professor told him. However, Tom quit college; his love of farming drew him back to the farm. Thirty years later, Tom picked up the pen again, drawing readers into farming adventures with him. In these exciting and uplifting true stories, he shares his love of farming, family, and God. His unique writing style brings the reader right alongside him and his family as they work on their northern Wisconsin dairy farm. Tom’s stories have spread like wildfire from his hometown newspaper to papers across America. Readers tell him, “Please don’t quit writing.” Others ask him, “When are you going to make it a book?” Due to popular demand here it is.”

This book, Life On The Family Farm, is a series of short stories that the author, Tom Heck, has compiled over the years. In this book there are 76 stories in total and I fell in love with every one of them. While we all know that the American Farmer is a rare breed, and their days are filled with backbreaking, never-ending work, Mr. Heck almost makes me want to sell it all and become a farmer.
