What a blessing this book is to someone that has had a devastating loss, and how I wish that it had been available 8 years ago when I lost my husband to a short illness. As the author shares his story, you can hear the pain in his heart at the same time you can hear the hope in his heart. As I read this book, I thought to myself… he get’s it… he’s walked this path, he understands the overwhelming grief, loss, that sense of hopelessness and helplessness.
But woven throughout all of the pages of this book is the bigger story, the real story… the story of God’s amazing love for us. As a tender Father, holding his broken child and walking out his grief and sadness with him… to providing comfort and solace in the blur of events that make no sense… to setting him on a path to wholeness and redemption.
If you have suffered a loss so profound that your entire world is turned upside down – inside out, then I would recommend this book to you. There really is life on the other side of your grief.
About the author: Ricky Texada serves with his wife, Cyd, as pastor of Covenant Church in Colleyville, TX, one of the four Covenant Church campuses in the Dallas/ Ft. Worth area. Throughout his 20 years of ministry, Ricky has challenged and inspired thousands around the globe to pursue a deeper walk with Christ.
