I’ve thought for years, that I should write my story….  the story of those 56 days that started in December 2005.  The story of my husband’s home-going.  As I read this book, I thought that I was reading my own story.  This author, Lori Hynson,  she get’s it.  She was so able to write not just my story – no matter how similar the circumstances – but the story of every SuperGal out there.  This book has left me thinking through alot of old lately.  Memories I should have put away a long time ago.  Thank you Lori.

I have to say that when I first saw this book, I thought… oh how fun. This looks great. Thinking to myself… how bright and cheery the cover is all pink… almost sparkly. I thought, this would be a nice change.

I was not prepared for the story inside. Don’t get me wrong; this is a wonderful book, written by an extremely talented writer. Her tongue-in-cheek humor will make you smile and giggle at times. And her command of language and words, will make you cry, and cheer, and laugh, and pout and get angry. You will run through all of those emotions.

But what I wasn’t ready for was the actual story. This story was a mirror of my own life. With a divorce in the early 2000’s… to a new love and remarriage… to his fatal illness in mid 2000’s. Ironically, while her story played out at the end of 2005 – early 2006 in Philadelphia… my story played out at the same time in Tennessee. She so captured the emotional roller coaster that you jump onto when someone you love knocks on deaths door and all your superpowers can’t fix it.

Be prepared, this is a heart wrenching and at the same time a heart-warming story of love, joy, tragedy, battles, miracles and messengers. A story you don’t want to miss.
