As I am writing the review of this book…  I am trying to keep myself from thinking about the appointment that I have tomorrow morning for a breast biopsy.  I’m not sure that this book could have come at a better time.

With an ovarian cancer diagnosis 4 years ago…. and Praise Jesus, no reoccurence… I have been struggling with this appointment – playing out all of the worst case scenario’s over and over in my thoughts

But after finishing this book this morning… all I can do is take my heart and my fears to Him.  To take them to His throne, and at that throne… I find my strength.

I found solace in the words of this book… I pray that you do too.

This book, Praying Through Hard Times, is a book that you will want to keep close. As we know, typically it’s not “if” we will have troubled or hard times… it’s “when” we will have troubled or hard times.

With her usual easy and friendly style, the author, Linda Evans Shepherd, uses stories from her own life to encourage and inspire the reader to not just bring their fears, worries, concerns, and issues of life to God… but to know that all of it will be answered. It may not be answered in a way that we recognize at the time… but answered nonetheless.

Throughout each chapter, we are given sound biblical principles’ and prayers to help us to walk through our own painful hard times to help us to draw closer to God than we have ever been. And in those times… we rest in His promises.

As the author says… “God’s answers to prayer may not come packaged in the ways we would expect, but they do come in ways that will transform our lives.”
