The Art of Work: A Proven Path to Discovering What You Were Meant to Do by Jeff Goins
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Don’t settle for the status quo. Live a life that matters. Life seldom unfolds the way we hope or plan. The twists, suspires, and setbacks leave us feeling stuck with no options left but to play it safe – to conform to what’s expected of us. But what if there was more to life than this?
A calling is not some special opportunity reserved for an elite class of people. Meaningful work is available to anyone who dares to find it. The path before you is a perilous one, full of difficulty and challenges, but it leads to a legacy the world will not soon forget.
I’ve been following Jeff Goins for some time now through his online teachings and newsletters; I was excited to have the opportunity to read and review his book. There are just some books that are so engaging and seem to fall right into your lap in its due season. The Art of Work is just such a book.
I knew when I read the introduction, that Mr. Goins penned this book for this season of my life. Laying out the commonalities of those who have “found their calling” to speaking into my heart about “Letting Go of What Could Have Been”. And it just gets better from there.
This book is filled with wonderful stories of those who have figured out the difference between vocation and a job or career. Ever the mentor, (visit his website to find out more), Mr. Goins ends this book with an appendix chock full of resources for further investigation for the seeker. I highly recommend this book for anyone that asks themselves… is this all there is?
