Living and Longing for the Lord

Living & Longing for the Lord: A Guide to 1-2 ThessaloniansLiving & Longing for the Lord: A Guide to 1-2 Thessalonians by Michael Whitworth

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

“The Christian life can have as many heartbreaks as “Hallelujahs.” Circumstances confuse us. Sin frustrates us. The devil likes to inflict pain on God’s children. Wouldn’t it be great if we could go to heaven as soon as we become Christians and skip the confusion, frustration, and pain?

Sadly, it doesn’t work like that; we have to learn to overcome this world while awaiting the Second Coming. In 1–2 Thessalonians, we are equipped to do just that. “Living & Longing for the Lord” will guide you through Paul’s letters to Thessalonica in hopes of helping you become more like Jesus until he returns.”
This is the second book that I’ve read by the author, Michael Whitworth. The first being a commentary/ discussion on the Book of Daniel – “The Derision of Heaven”. In this book, Mr. Whitworth offers us another great commentary/discussion on the Biblical Books of 1 Thessalonians and 2 Thessalonians.

While his books are not what you think of when you think of as “traditional” commentaries, in my opinion, they are more a discussion of the Books. Discussions brought into the light of our right Christian living in the day and age we live in and why we should be living and longing for the Lord.
