What if God has had a plan for you from the very beginning?
Did you know:
- God wants to rescue you from bondage?
- He wants to deliver you from whatever holds you back?
- He wants you to discover His original intention for your life?
- And He wants you to be a part of a family that is making a difference?
Sure on some level, I think that we all know that. But recently I read a book called “Four Cups” and what an enlightening book it was.
In teaching about the ancient celebration of Passover, we find a picture of God’s heart for us in the four cups of wine representing each of these promises and that no matter where I might be on my journey, these four cups of promise a simple and unforgettable way of reaching my potential and growing closer to God.
The Four Cups – The Cup of Sanctification, The Cup of Deliverance, The Cup of Redemption and The Cup of Praise – show us God’s heart for us in each of the promises for His people at that time, but we also learn of how these four cups represent the love and hope of Jesus in our lives today.
Without giving away too much information, let me just say that I truly did enjoy this book. It was so easy to read…. yet so profound in it’s teaching

This is the review that I am required to post for each book that I review:
The Four Cups of Promise: The Journey to Fulfillment God Planned for You by Chris Hodges
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
“What if God has had a plan for you since the very beginning? The God of the universe has made you some big promises. He made them first in the Old Testament, but they remain at the core of His heart and have never changed. They’re the key to your fulfillment and to His plans for you, both in this life and the life to come. In the ancient celebration of Passover, we find a picture of God’s heart for us in the four cups of whine representing each of these core promises. Now, in Four Cups… the author reveals that no matter where we are on our spiritual journey, these four cups of promise provide a simple, powerful, unforgettable way of reaching our potential and growing closer to God.”
In this book – Four Cups, the author brings to us the background and biblical significance of the Four Cups of Promise given by God to the Jewish people as found in the book of Exodus and how each Cup reveals the developing relationship between us and God.
The Four Cups – The Cup of Sanctification, The Cup of Deliverance, The Cup of Redemption and The Cup of Praise – show us God’s heart for us in each of the promises for His people at that time, but we also learn of how these four cups represent the love and hope of Jesus in our lives today.
This is a wonderfully enlightening book that I truly enjoyed reading. To have the historical and biblical background of these Cups to a non-theologian was a real blessing.
